Everyone should know how to do the basics of sewing like sewing on a button, mending a tear or rip on a piece of clothing, and hemming a pair of pants or a skirt.
Today we will be learning how to sew on a button!
Instructions:
Thread your needle to so that your thread hangs down equally on both sides of the needle, go ahead and tie the knot in your thread.
Place the button at the center of where you want to secure the button. Bring your needle through your material from the back side to the front going through one of the hole on the button. If you have a 4 hole button you can criss cross between two of the hole and then criss cross between the other two holes going back and forth about 5 time on each criss cross.
Once your button is secure you will need to come up through the material one more time but do not go through the hole of the button. Wrap the thread around the threads under the button three times and the using your needle pull up 2-3 threads bringing the thread just a little way through the material and tie off the thread.
It will feel a little awkward at first with time and practice your will get better.
