“Home is where the heart is”, at least that is how the saying goes. For most of us home is where we retreat from the world and where we are accepted, loved and appreciated by those we love. If we close our eyes our minds take us back to a place and time when life was simpler and less complicated.
Creating a space for ourselves and our families has become something of a lost art. Homemaking doesn’t have to be difficult or take large amounts of time, it does however take some planning and creativity to develop the kind of environment we hope to obtain.
Through the decades homemaking has evolved from being primarily the role of the wife and mother to being a shared responsibility for everyone in the household. You do need however one person who develops a plan and gets everyone moving in the right direction. Naturally if you are the primary homemaker it will be easier for you to be that person but everyone should be clear as to what their role is and what their responsibilities are.
I was blessed to be able to stay home for a number of years with my kids but as they got older I re-entered the workforce and also had to learn to juggle work and home. I have had the blessing of pouring into my family and now I am able to also be available to spend time with grandchildren.
I am really looking forward to taking this journey with all of you as you navigate what homemaking means to you. Whether you are a full time working mom, a stay at home mom or somewhere in between I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully helping you on your journey.
